MISSISSIPPI BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH

Dear Servants,

Great things are happening at the BLVD and in the city of Memphis. Congratulations to the Memphis Grizzlies as they embark upon their first NBA playoff series since 2006. I will be cheering for the Grizzlies and Bulls (lol). I know we have a lot of loyal Grizzlies fans in our congregation who are looking forward to a winning series with the first game being played this Sunday at noon. To all the Grizzlies fans, I still need you to show up for worship services on Sunday. It’s Palm Sunday and you don’t want to miss this celebration as we begin Holy Week at THE BLVD. Also, the Grizzlies chances to win will dramatically improve if we all come to church on Palm Sunday! Remember, you have your choice of two locations where you can worship – BLVD East at 8:30AM or BLVD Midtown at 10:00AM. We will have our Fellowship Hall TV on and refreshments after worship service at Midtown in case anyone is afraid of missing a single moment of the game. Don’t forget, always place God first in your attendance and in giving your tithes and offerings.

We started our new “True Blood”, The Body, The Betrayal, and The Breakthrough sermon series as we journey into Holy Week. Last Sunday, I preached about The Body and this Sunday I will be preaching on The Betrayal. What about you? Have you ever been sold out? How did you feel about being betrayed? Come hear some inspirational answers on Sunday. Also, we will have our Midtown Nursery Children’s Easter program immediately following worship in the Sanctuary, please support our children.

Don’t forget to step outside of your comfort zones and model the Great Commission. Talk to your friends and neighbors at the Beauty Shop, Barber Shop, Starbuck’s, class, mall, etc. and tell them THE BLVD has the best preaching, music, dramatizations, and warmest people in the City of Memphis. Give them both addresses, East campus at 6745 Wolf River Blvd. at Kirby Rd., and Midtown campus at 70 N. Bellevue Blvd.  As you know, there’s a lot happening at THE BLVD, don’t forget to invite someone to church for the remainder of our Holy Week activities listed below:

·         April 21, Maundy Thursday Worship Service,  6:00PM in Fellowship Hall

·         April 24, BLVD East Easter service with special Children’s Easter segment, 8:30AM

·         April 24, Midtown Easter service, 10:00AM

Our Lenten Series focus for next week is “The Breakthrough – The Practice of Fasting”. We are asking you to abstain from food from 6:00AM to 6:00PM, Monday through Saturday.  Of course, please adhere to your dietary and medication needs.

Let’s always remember our 2011 Thematic Goal – “Go Get ‘Em” and bring them in, especially during Holy Week.

See you Sunday,

DR. FRANK A. THOMAS Senior Servant
